Hip hop is one of my favorite types of music (proud watcher of VH1’s 100 Greatest Hip Hop Songs last weekend). Children’s books are my favorite kind of books. An intermingling of the two? Sounds to good to me. NPR recently interviewed Nikki Giovanni, author of “Hip Hop Speaks to Children“. You may have some read reviews of the book:

A Fuse #8 Production, Read, Read, Read, The Children’s Book Review, A Year of Reading, Becky’s Book Reviews, etc.

Ms. Giovanni discusses the book and the process of its creation on All Things Considered. While listening, I realized that I really need to write more braggadocio posts*. Click the play button below to listen.
